in the united states illegally. the white house claimed at the time that omar and president obama never had met because reporters were inquiring about the relationship. now they have done a complete 180. trace gallagher has "the kelly file" investigation. >> reporter: in fact, when the president's uncle omar was arrested for drunk driving not only did we learn he was here illegally but that he was related to the president. in fact he was asked if he would like to make a phone call. he said, i think i will call the white house. the white house told the boston globe there was no record of the president meeting his uncle omar. this week in the boston immigration court omar obama testified not only had he met his nephew but barack obama even lived with him for a short time. the white house said there was no deception. they couldn't find evidence to support the president met his uncle. it is not clear what evidence they were looking for though omar was mentioned in the president's book there was no mention of them meeting. today jay carney pinpointed the problem. listen to this. >> nob

accusations the white house is not being honest about how much or how little president obama has been directly involved in the launch of obama care. welcome to "the kelly file." i'm megyn kelly. reporting from los angeles tonight. in less than 48 hours health & human services secretary kathleen sebelius will be back in front of congress. she's expected to be grilled on a new report that she didn't have a single one on one meeting with president obama in the three of and a half years leading up to the roll-out of obama care. how can that be? the white house slamming the report saying the president and secretary sebelius have had countless meetings. but so far refusing to provide any dates, times, or topics. why is that? marc is a fellow at the american enterprise institute and former speech writer for george w. bush. do you buy it -- countless? >> maybe. they have to put out the information. jay carney was in the press briefing the other day. he said lots of meetings happened that aren't on the record. i had two yesterday. that's not true. every meeting the president has is recordied.
